The Sahara
The great dunes of Merzouga lie a long drive from Marrakech, usually crossed over several days through the Atlas and the valleys beyond. It is a journey as much as a destination.
Agafay
The Agafay is a rocky desert just outside Marrakech. It is ideal if you have little time but still want sunset, open space and a night under the stars.
Either way
Camel rides, quad tracks and a night in a desert camp can be added to both. Pack a scarf against wind and sand, and a warm jumper for the evening.
